E36 fog light duct

About an hour·The bumper fasteners, a trim tool, a screwdriver

One duct. The bag says left or right. It can feed the brake or the intake. Those are different hose runs. Do not heat the print to make it fit.

  1. E36 fog light duct, rectangular mouth and round outlet

    Step 01

    Bumper off

The duct uses the fog-light opening, so the bumper has to come off. Support it. Do not let it hang on the harness.

Done when. The fog opening is clear and the bumper is off the car.

  2. The round outlet and mounting tabs on the E36 duct

    Step 02

    Fog out, duct in

Remove the fog light if it is still in the opening. The rectangular mouth faces out. The round port is the outlet. Seat the duct so the mouth fills the opening and the ears can take a fastener.

Done when. The mouth is in the fog opening and the duct is held, not wedged.

  3. E36 duct next to the hoses in the lineup

    Step 03

    Run the hose

Brake cooling goes toward the rotor. An intake feed goes toward the airbox. Pick one before you cut the hose. Clamp it on the round outlet. Nothing should touch the tire or the exhaust.

Done when. The hose is clamped, and it misses the tire and the exhaust.

  4. E36 fog light duct mouth

    Step 04

    Bumper back

Bumper on, fasteners in, and check the mouth is still centered in the opening. Then do the other side if you bought a pair. It is the other print.

Done when. The mouth is centered and the bumper is tight.
